This is OpenAI’s consulting play, and it signals where enterprise AI is heading. Instead of handing companies an API and saying “figure it out,” Presence bundles six components: policies and SOPs, guardrails, approved actions, pre-deployment simulations, evaluation tools, and a Codex-powered improvement process that investigates production signals and suggests tested updates.

What makes it stand out:

  • Full deployment stack: policies, guardrails, approved actions, simulations, evaluations, and continuous improvement
  • Governed agents: voice and chat agents that answer questions, resolve issues, use company systems, take approved actions, and escalate to humans
  • Pre-deployment simulation: test agents against realistic scenarios before they talk to real customers

  • OpenAI’s own engineers deploy and manage — not just an API handoff

Limitations:
